Preface

Distinguish Guests, Fellow Members, Ladies and Gentlemen:

Welcome to the 2015-16 HKCCMA's AGM and Gala Dinner. This event was originally to be held in Jan 2017 but due to some unforeseen circumstances, the event was deferred to this evening. On behalf of HKCCMA, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this might have caused. On the bright side, with your overwhelming support, you have all made this evening the highest attendance in the Association's history.

Before I start to provide the review of the Association in the past year. I would like to just briefly talk about the International Credit risk market. With the inauguration of Mr. Donald Trump onto the international scene as the President of the USA, there are many unclear issues which I am not going to dwell on this evening. However, a strong reminder to all of us who are involved in the Asia market (especially PRC) to be vigilant and wary of the surrounding events within the market of uncertainty.

A brief recap of HKCCMA's activities for the year:

1) In last year's AGM,

I have mentioned that since 2015 we had held seminars in Guangzhou. In April 2016, we extended this event even further to as far as Shanghai. The responses were overwhelming. HKCCMA in the coming future will continue and further our presences at these two cities and other major cities for sharing knowledge in international credit management and global business exchange. Most sincere thanks must go to efforts and time which Mr. Stephen Lo, Mr. Bobby Rozario and Ms Betty Huen had unselfishly contributed to the success in the Shanghai event.

2) Thanks God it's Friday (TGIF)
With the support of our members and their guests, the frequency of TGIF held this year were more than prior years and all of these were well received by those who attended. For the coming year, this event shall continue to be held and we hope our members will strongly support it.

3) CCP Examination
In order to upkeep the CCP Examination at an international standard, frequent liaison with US’s ACA were maintained. The numbers of examinee do not deter HKCCMA in compromising its CCP Examination standards. Over the past 10 years, only 22 members obtained the CCP professional qualification. It is not easy to obtain and is a qualification proud to be shown in any resume. I have the utmost confidence in our members.

4) Web-Site www.hkccma.com

The revamp and redesign works on the Association's web site has started in the 4th Quarter last year. As disclosed in last year's AGM, much resources will be allotted to this project. The anticipated completion of this Project will be in mid 2017. Members shall be amazed with the functionalities of the new web site. In the mean time, members are welcome to put forward their thoughts how this new web site can be better improved.

5) Who's Who
With the change to the web site, Who's Who will have a new face lift and increased inter-connectivity. I have expectation that members will participate energetically in this area and make our Who's Who a trade icon for our industry. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Mr. Eddie Chan and Mr. Bobby Rozario for their contributions in taking lead in this initiative.
