Chairman Statement 2017-2018

Welcome and thank you for making the time to our 2017-2018 HKCCMA Annual General Meeting. I believe, the present Sino-America Trade dispute not only affected Hong Kong but also to some extent each and everyone present. We being a member of the Credit profession can and be able to professionalism in this adverse condition and be victories at the end.

Let us recap the affairs of the Association for the past year;

1) Education:



In July and September 2018, the Association held seminars. The first seminar was legally related topic regarding the litigation procedures in PRC. The second one related to the impact on the Credit Practitioner under 'Digital Transformation'. These two seminars were well supported by the members with large attendances. Our sincere thanks goes to Mr. Bobby Rozario of Alpha Lender and Ms Galina Ho of CRIF for their support and assistance.

2) TGIF:



Like in the past, the Association held TGIF in April, July and November in 2018. The responses were over whelming with no disappointment or dissatisfaction. The Association will and shall keep its promise of retaining this successful event for the future.

3) ICCB:



Our Association was honoured to be invited by International Credit and Collections Board to attend an international conference in France on the application of Global Data Protection Standard (GDPS) issued by the European Union. Our Association was represented by Mr. Benedict Wong of TCL. In the Conference, different delegate expressed opinion on the possible impact of such Standard relating to their country. After the meeting, HKCCMA with other delegates signed the Letter of Intent (LOI) in support thus forming a large international alliance on this issue. Many thanks to Mr. Wong for taking his precious time to attend this Conference on behalf of the Association.

4) CCP Examination:



In 2018, Mr. Gordon Chu and Mr. Jeffery Chan have become the 24th and 25th members whom has passed this tough exam. Much congratulation to both of them.

AT this time, I wish to thank each members of the 2017-2018 Executive Committee for steering the ship during the few months of which I was unable to perform my elected duty of being the Chairmen due to personal health. Without their dedication and devotion, the Association's operation cannot be as smooth or successful as right now.
