HKCCMA Chairman was re-elected to chair the ACA International Unit

In July 2001, our chairman, Benedict Wong was re-elected as Chairman of International Unit of ACA International (formerly known as American Collectors Association) for 2001/2002. Ben has been the chairman since 2000.

On July 11-14, ACA International held its 62^nd Annual Convention & Exposition in Philadelphia. “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Knowledge”, this year’s slogan, was certainly a fitting theme for the location and agenda.The Directors of the International unit gave updates about the changes and developments in their regions’ economies and collections environments. Four directors for 2001/2202 were elected from four regions of the world represent the International Unit as follows:

Europe – Tony BUSHELL

Asia/Pacific – Benedict WONG

Australia/New Zealand – Neil WOOD

Canada, Caribbean – Matt MCGRATH

Benedict reported that the past year has been one of the great significance in the Asian region for all agents operating in the collection and credit reporting industry. Privacy and data protection legislation continues to have an enormous impact on the way businesses collect and exchange information, and its is expected this will continue to increase across all Asian countries, some of which in previous years paid little if any attention to privacy issues.
